Well I think people don't know about Robin hood because everyone just thinks he's a bandit (steels from the rich and gives to the poor) but here's the real story:
Robin Hood is NOT his real name. His real name is Robert, Earl of Huntington. The story goes that Robert was engaged to MAID MARIAN. On their wedding day the Sheriff of Nottingham stopped the wedding and said that Robert was not loyal to Prince John so he must be arrested. But Robert fled to Sherwood Forest and changed his name to ROBIN HOOD. When he got there he saw familys kicked out of their houses because they couldn't pay their taxes. Prince John ordered the Sheriff of Nottingham to triple the taxes so he could be more powerful. So Robin Hood didn't steal from the rich. Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham were the robbers! Robin Hood took back the money that rightfully belonged to the people that got kicked out and gave back their money. He wasn't a bandit, he was helping the citizens of Nottingham get their money back. When King Richard came back from the Crusades, Maid Marian told her Uncle everything that happened. King Richard said to Robin that he did a good deed and saved Nottingham from chaos. So Robin's name was once again Robert, Earl of Huntington and he then finally married Maid Marian.
